An overseas advertising campaign by VisitBritain has been put on hold whilst the violence which spreads across the UK continues. With the London 2012 Olympics just around the corner riots and journalists having to wear bullet / stab proof vests are far from the hospitable impression the London committee will have been wanting to create. VisitBritain is monitoring the situation to evaluate when or if it is appropriate for the advertising to continue. It was announced in July 2011 tourism to Britain had increased 11% between March and May, spending just under......

Moving forward, we now use a template and update all sales presentations to this standard. You should notice a difference in the quality of design and overall......

Sky Sports launches its summer advertising campaign Whilst consuming my tea and toast at breakfast this morning an advert for the new Sky Sports season came on my screen. Typically, I watch BBC news in the morning and spend 5 minutes flicking between channels afterwards. What was appealing about the Sky Sports advert was the simplicity of it – it didn’t shout “Buy Now”, it slowed the football action down, the music wasn’t overstated and in an instant it managed to grab my attention. Usually there is systematic approach to advertising. One......

The court of appeal ruled in favour of the Newspaper Licensing Agency (NLA) in London yesterday. The decision of an earlier court ruling was upheld as the battle over licensing fees intensified. The court ruling states that anyone copying or supplying content from UK newspaper web content must acquire a licence from the Newspaper Licence Authority (NLA). The NLA is a body owned by the mainstream media. The debate continues as companies such as Meltwater news will fight the decision, claiming that online content is without ownership and should be free for......

Yesterday we wrote about British Gas and their £2.5 million fine for poor customer service. We’re pleased British Gas won’t be losing sleep over their slap on the wrists. This 19% drop may coincide with the 18% price increase British Gas has applied to their customers from August. The price increase is coming at a time when people in the UK are struggling to afford to heat their homes.......
